A mountain bike race across Western Africa.


Race start will be on Nov 19, 2011 in Dakar, the finish line in Accra should be reached by Jan 25, 2012.
In between lie more than 3.450 miles of corrugated roads, dirt tracks, four-wheel tracks,
heat, wilderness and tropical rainforests, deserts and river crossings...
 
The Timbuktu Race, for me it will be one of my greatest lifetime adventures!


Some facts regarding the race:
  • The "Timbuktu Mountain Bike Race" will start for the very first time in November 2011.
  • It's the replacement event of "Paris-Dakar by Bike", which has been discontinued in the meantime due to terror threat.
  • The organizer is Bike Dreams B.V. (Netherlands)
